Introduction
Thread3r is a Windows desktop application that allows you to analyze the performance of threads on your system. The application runs a large amount of mathematical operations and divides this work over a number of threads. You can specify both the number of operations and the number of threads to use.
Thread3r is particularly useful to analyze the performance benefit of a multi-threaded application on a system with multiple CPUs or hyperthreading. With the right hardware, multi-threaded desktop applications can outperform single-threaded desktop applications by far. Thread3r's goal is to give you proof of this performance benefit. This article gives you a detailed description about how to use Thread3r.
System requirements
Thread3r is currently for Windows only. It requires version 2.0 of the Microsoft .Net framework or later.
